Damien Hou

Damien Hou

Vice President of Engineering
LinkedIn

As VP of Engineering, Damien builds the Deal Operating System — the AI-native platform Omnibay's service runs on — and holds it to the reliability, security, and audit standard a client's most sensitive transaction demands.

He spent nearly sixteen years at Google, a decade of it leading engineering at YouTube — the mobile and full-stack work on the main app, then Search, where he built the team and led the rebuild of the search experience for an audience of billions. Most recently he founded and led YouTube's AI Search, taking "Ask YouTube" from zero to the launch Google announced at I/O in May 2026: the third team he had built and led from nothing.

Damien spent a decade at YouTube, leading engineering on the two surfaces the business runs on. On the main app he led the mobile and full-stack work for YouTube itself — the product the audience actually opens. He then moved to Search, where he hired and built a team from scratch and led an end-to-end rebuild of the search journey across mobile and web — the path from what a viewer asks for to what they watch, for billions of logged-in viewers in over 100 countries and 80 languages.

Then he did it again. As a senior staff engineer and senior engineering manager — carrying the technical direction and the organization that had to deliver it — he founded and led YouTube's AI Search team and shipped "Ask YouTube," which Google unveiled at I/O in May 2026: the company's answer to what search becomes when people state what they want in plain language instead of typing keywords. He left the month it launched, to build Omnibay, where the query belongs to a seller and the right answer is a buyer.

Institutional Quality. Modern Execution.

Sell-side M&A

Technology companies are positioned for successful strategic outcomes through senior-led advisory and advanced market intelligence. This approach expands the opportunity set, strengthens buyer engagement, and creates the competitive dynamics needed to maximize shareholder value.

Omnibay positions technology companies for the strategic outcome they've earned. Where traditional deal teams are constrained by bandwidth, the Deal Operating System enables broader, more systematic coverage of the buyer universe — evaluating and prioritizing a wider set of potential counterparties rather than limiting the process to a shortlist shaped by human capacity; institutional-grade materials drafted and refined through fast iteration, shaped with the founder to present the company at its full strength; and competitive tension held throughout the process — while a senior banker directs strategy, negotiates, and is accountable from first call to close.  Broader market coverage, stronger engagement, and competitive dynamics designed to maximize value.

Capital raising

Private technology companies are supported in raising capital with greater precision and strategic alignment. Advanced investor intelligence and experienced advisory are brought together to build momentum, engage the right capital partners, and secure financing that supports long-term growth.

Omnibay combines senior banker judgment, deep technology-sector relationships, and expanded execution capacity to deliver a more targeted and effective capital-raising process. The Deal Operating System maps investors against thesis, stage, and check size; develops an evidence-based case that withstands partner-level scrutiny; and conducts a disciplined, parallel process — while a senior banker directs strategy, engages the firm's broader network of industry experts and strategic partners, and is accountable for the outcome. Precise targeting, genuine momentum, and a disciplined process.

The Deal OS —
One system runs the whole mandate.
OmniBrain makes every deal compound.

01 The deal room the case

Everything about your company and your transaction, in one live source of truth — sealed to your mandate alone, with no training on your data.

02 The market the crown

A live picture of who's buying, at what, and on what terms — continuously weighed against your deal's specific value drivers, not a static buyer list.

03 The process the train

The full sell-side sequence, encoded in software. The system carries the deal forward between your meetings. Nothing dropped, nothing stale.

04 The work the wheels

An AI deal team produces the deal work — materials, models, buyer analysis, outreach — in parallel, at software speed.

05 The judgment the escapement

Speed is the machine's job. Judgment isn't. Nothing reaches a buyer, an investor, or a data room without a senior banker's sign-off. No exceptions.

06 OmniBrain the rotor

The firm's knowledge base — what our bankers know, plus what every mandate teaches. Each deal inherits everything the firm learned before it. We compound the learning, never the deal.

◇A Client isolation

One classification governs who can read your data and what can process it.

◇B Controlled intelligence

No training on your data. Each mandate remains sealed from every other.

◇C Human accountability

Human approval before anything leaves the room, with a full audit trail.

Scroll — the movement assembles

Deals are made around tables. The right one changes markets, companies — and the lives behind them.

Bankers, experts, investors, acquirers — every seat does two kinds of work: making the deals in motion stronger, and making the next ones possible. Each matters at its own moment. Together, the table compounds.

Take a seat. The tables in motion need judgment, expertise, capital, and intent.
Set the table. The network's reach creates deals that wouldn't otherwise exist.

Multiply

Compound

Turn every mandate into sharper intelligence, stronger relationships, and better execution.

You bring the judgment. We bring everything else.

01The Deal OS behind you — the production work of a junior pyramid, at software speed. You direct and decide; the system does the rest. Carry more mandates at higher quality, and spend your hours where they're worth the most — with clients and counterparties.

02Deal flow from the network — mandates sourced through the firm, its founders, and its relationships are routed to bankers whose sector history fits. Your pipeline stops depending on your inbox alone.

03An ecosystem of industry experts — operators, former acquirers, and domain advisors across our six coverage areas, on call to sharpen positioning, pressure-test a thesis, and open the right doors.

04Intelligence that works for you — every mandate on the platform sharpens the benchmarks and playbooks you run with (never client-confidential data). The longer you're here, the stronger your practice gets.

Introduce yourself

Decades of pattern recognition. Put it back to work.

01Live transactions, real stakes — operators, former acquirers, and technical leaders advise on positioning, pressure-test theses, and open doors on active mandates in the markets they know cold.

02Engagement that respects your calendar — per-deal and per-question, on your schedule. The Deal OS briefs you with exactly what a task needs — nothing more — under NDA, inside the same privacy architecture our clients get.

03Stay closest to your market — you see how your sector actually transacts: what buyers value, where diligence bites, how positioning wins. Sharper judgment flows both ways.

04Recognized and rewarded — expert contributions are compensated, and the relationships you build with founders, bankers, and acquirers are yours to keep.

Offer your expertise

Bring your portfolio its exits. And deploy into prepared deals.

01Real outcomes for companies the old model quietly rations — bring us a portfolio company whose exit window is open, and it gets a full-scale, senior-led M&A process: a scored buyer universe, positioning built in the acquirer's language, and momentum held to signature — at the speed the window demands.

02A partner across the fund — one relationship covers both sides of your job: the deals you need to land well and the ones you're entering. The more we know your portfolio, the earlier the right conversations start.

When you're deploying capital

03Deal flow matched to your thesis — tell us stage, check size, and sector; you see the raises and processes that actually fit, not a blast list. Companies arrive diligence-ready: evidence-built materials, organized data rooms, defensible numbers. Your first meeting starts where most third meetings do.

04Early looks into intriguing opportunities — coverage across key technology areas, and a senior banker on every process who tracks questions, sources answers, and keeps timelines.

See the companies you'd never find — prepared.

01Deal flow that fits your criteria — tell us your acquisition thesis: capabilities, sectors, deal profile. We bring companies from our six coverage areas that actually match — including ones that would never have surfaced through a traditional process.

02Intelligence tools you can use now — working with Omnibay comes with instruments, not just introductions. Our conference scouting capability maps an industry event before you land: the exhibitor and attendee landscape pulled, enriched, and scored against your acquisition criteria, so your team walks the floor with a shortlist instead of a lanyard. More Deal OS-powered tools follow the same principle — useful to you long before there's a transaction on the table.

03Prepared, not shopped — vetted materials, organized data rooms, defensible numbers, and a disciplined process behind every introduction. Your team's diligence hours go toward deciding, not excavating.

04Speed you can transact at — process work runs on the Deal OS, so questions come back answered in days and momentum never dies in someone's inbox.

05A relationship that compounds — the more precisely we know your criteria, the earlier you see the right companies. Corporate development teams and financial sponsors both welcome.
